Sam Worthington has been President and CEO of InterAction since 2006. In partnership with InterAction member organizations, the private sector, foundations and other key stakeholders, InterAction champions a bold agenda for decreasing poverty, upholding human rights, safeguarding a sustainable planet, and ensuring human dignity for poor and vulnerable populations around the world.
Worthington is member of the Council on Foreign Relations, serves on the Advisory Committee for Voluntary Foreign Assistance (ACVFA) at USAID and the Inter-Agency Standing Committee (IASC) at the United Nations, and sits on the boards of the Van Leer Group Foundation, CIVICUS, U.S. Global Leadership Coalition and The Alliance to End Hunger. Prior to joining InterAction, he served as CEO of Plan International USA and as a member of Plan International’s executive team from 1993-2006.
